About She Belongs Here Now

She Belongs Here Now is a digital sanctuary centering immigrant women—cis and trans—and welcoming non-binary and gender-diverse people navigating identity, intergenerational pressure, and the quiet pursuit of self-worth.

We live between cultures, often between expectations. We carry stories that began long before us—stories of survival, sacrifice, silence—and yet, we yearn to write new ones. Stories rooted in confidence. Healing. Wholeness.

Here, we explore what it means to belong—not just in a country or a career, but in our own skin.

Whether you’re unpacking generational wounds, rebuilding your confidence, or trying to find your voice in a world that often misunderstands you—you belong here.

Through gentle self-reflection, personal storytelling, and resources designed to meet you where you are, this space offers a soft place to land. One that honors the strength it takes to grow in two worlds—and the courage it takes to choose yourself in both.

Inspiration for

She Belongs Here Now

I started She Belongs Here Now to fill a gap I wish didn’t exist—a place where immigrant women could see themselves reflected in honest, empowering ways. Growing up as the daughter of immigrants, I learned how easy it is to lose your voice under layers of expectation, tradition, and survival. But I also learned that courage and belonging can be rebuilt—piece by piece.

Today, this space centers immigrant women’s stories—both cis and trans—while welcoming non-binary and gender-diverse people who face overlapping challenges. Our conversations explore healing from intergenerational trauma, building self-confidence, navigating career growth, and finding (or creating) communities where you truly feel at home.

Whether you’re in the middle of a big life transition, figuring out how to set boundaries, or simply looking for a space where your experiences are understood, you belong here. My hope is that She Belongs Here Now becomes both a mirror and a doorway — a reflection of who you are, and an opening to what you can become.

Hi, I’m Aira Leong.

I’m a Southeast Asian-raised, Canadian-based writer, thinker, and second-generation daughter navigating what it means to live in between—between heritage and ambition, silence and expression, survival and self-worth.

She Belongs Here Now is my love letter to women like us—both cis and trans—those who’ve held too much, for too long, and are finally ready to lay some of it down. I write from lived experience, not textbooks. I believe in soft strength, honest stories, and healing that unfolds in your own time.

Thanks for being here. You already belong.
